Conference USA hoops tournament now underway in Huntsville

Men’s and women’s basketball teams from Conference USA have descended upon the Rocket City this week at the C-USA tournaments take place at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center.
The first game tipped off at 11:30AM today.
20 teams from Conference USA come to the Rocket City


Both the men’s and women’s Conference USA tournaments are taking place in Huntsville all week, which means the 10-team conference will bring 20 teams to the Rocket City, playing 18 games with C-USA titles and NCAA automatic bids on the line.
A few quick facts:
- This is the second year in a row that Huntsville has hosted the tournaments.
- Last year’s men’s champion was Western Kentucky and the women’s champion was Middle Tennessee State.
- Both the men’s and women’s teams from Liberty University are number 1 seeds this year.
- Jacksonville State has the no. 2 seed in the men’s tournament and defending champ MTSU is the no. 2 seed in the women’s tournament.
- The tournament last year had a $3.2 million economic impact for Huntsville.
