Huntsville Music Month continues with a full slate of live music events happening in Huntsville this weekend:

  • Matt Prater Band: Sept. 15, Stovehouse, 7PM. This is a free show featuring one of the finest local musicians in the area.
  • Love Jones Presents ‘Women in Music’: Sept. 15, Orion Amphitheater, 8PM. Celebrate Women in Music with performances by Jazz McKenzie, Charise Watson, Gypsy Soul, Shrimpa, Mechi Rae and more.
  • Ben Folds: Sept. 16, Mars Music Hall, 7PM. Ben Folds visits Huntsville on his What Matters Most Tour.
  • Black Jacket Symphony Presents Saturday Night Fever: Sept.16, Mark C. Smith Concert Hall, 8PM. Catch BJS perform the iconic Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
  • Jazz in the Park: Sept. 17, Big Spring Park, 5PM. This week’s Jazz in the Park features the Calhoun Community College Show Band, BK Jackson and Alex Bugnon.

Rocket City Fair, Monte Sano Art Festival + more events happening in Huntsville

Some big events are happening in Huntsville this weekend, including the Rocket City Fair and the Monte Sano Art Festival. So make time to get out and enjoy some cool events:

  • Rocket City Fair: Sept. 14-23. John Hunt Park, Mon.-Fri.. 4PM, Sat.-Sun. 11AM. The Rocket City Fair is going on all week, featuring thrilling rides, live music and fun for the entire family.
  • Huntsville Human Rights Film Festival: Sept. 14-16, UAH, Fri. 6PM, Sat. 9AM. This year’s Festival theme, Community Health is a Human Right, focuses the lens on the collective health and well-being of a community, elevates human rights as a public good, and exposes threats to safe, healthy communities.
  • Yellowhammer Oktoberfest: Sept. 16, Yellowhammer Brewing, 12PM-9PM. Join Yellowhammer for an afternoon and evening of beer, food, and festivities.
  • Monte Sano Art Festival: Sept. 16-17, Monte Sano Park, 9AM to 5PM Saturday and 9AM to 4PM Sunday. More than 100 regional artists will be present, plus live music and food trucks.
  • CulturA Festival: Sept. 17, Orion Amphitheater, 12PM. CulturA Festival is an annual celebration of Hispanic culture, food, and music in Huntsville that brings together people from all walks of life.

Sports + Fitness

Whether you want to watch sports or participate, there’s enough to do here in the Rocket City on the sports front:

  • College Football Watch Party: Sept 16, Furniture Factory (Providence): 2PM. Meet up at the Furniture Factory in the Village of Providence for a fun college football watch party.
  • Duck & Run 5K: Sept 16,Big Spring Memorial Park at East Street in Athens,  7AM. This race is an Athens tradition, hosted by Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful.
  • Daniel Whisenant Memorial Kickball Tournament: Sept. 16, Kiwanis Park, 8AM. Kickball is not just for the school playground, folks. This tournament is serious business!
  • Glow in the Park 5K: Sept. 16, John Hunt Park, 7PM. Check out this night-time 5K run at the John Hunt Park soccer complex.
  • Huntsville City FC Watch Party: Sept. 17, BeeZr, 3PM. Cheer on the Huntsville City FC as they take on the Philadelphia Union.
