Foraging Hike at Wade Mountain Nature Preserve
(Moderate / 2 hours) Join forager, Casey Lanier, to search Devil’s Racetrack Trail on Wade Mountain for edible plants.
A FEW NOTES: This hike is educational, so if you’re looking for a walk with no long stops to talk, it’s probably not what you’re looking for. The hike is scheduled to last 2 hours, but it may run long. This hike around the preserve is not intended for collection or consumption of species, but more for identification and educational knowledge.
Location: Wade Mountain Nature Preserve (Spragins Hollow Trailhead) – 10130 Spragins Hollow Road NW, Huntsville, AL 35810 (off of Winchester Road)
The exact route for this hike will be determined the day of the event.
Note: This preserve has multiple trailheads – be sure to go to the right one!
