This weekend, being the first weekend of September, kicks off Huntsville Music Month, so embrace the opportunity to see some pretty awesome live music this weekend in Huntsville.

Here are just a few live music events this weekend in Huntsville:

  • Huntsville Music Month Launchpad: Sept. 1-3, Big Spring Park, 5PM. Catch local favorites all weekend long, like Microwave Dave, Common Man, Lamont Landers and more.
  • Honky Tonk Deluxe: Sept. 1, Stovehouse, 7PM. Don’t miss this free show featuring one of North Alabama’s most entertaining bands.
  • The Zooks: Sept. 1, Rocket Republic, 6:30PM. The best party band in town is at Rocket Republic in Downtown Huntsville this Friday night.
  • Rhythm & Blues Festival: Sept. 3, National Speleological Society, 12PM-6PM. This family-friendly event features incredible music, activities and food.
  • Ray Wylie Hubbard: Sept. 3, Princess Theater (Decatur), 7PM. Catch this incredible singer-songwriter in one of North Alabama’s best music venues.

  • Festiv-ALE: Sept. 1, Huntsville Botanical Garden, 6PM. Sample local beers and listen to some local music at Huntsville Botanical Garden Friday night until 9PM.
  • Capone: Sept. 1-2, Stand Up Live, 7PM. Laugh along with New York-based comedian with an onteresting stoty — who tells that story in a hilarious manner that only he can!
  • Rocket City Playwrights’ Series: Sept. 1-2, Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, 7PM. Catch this annual program supporting the creation of new works by local writers.
  • Game Day Paint Party: Sept 2, Designbyhart Pottery Studio, 5PM. This is a great opportunity for kids ages 8+ to paint their own snack plate, show off your love of your favorite team, and get a unique and personalized piece of art in the process.
  • The Market at MidCity: Sept. 3, The Camp at MidCity, 12PM-4PM. Shop for fresh produce, art, crafts and so much more at this artisan market.

Of course, this weekend kicks off the college football season all over the country, so I am sure many of you will be cheering on your favorite college team, but there are other sporting events happening in and around Huntsville this weekend:

  • Hazel Green vs Grissom: Sept. 1. Grissom High School, 7PM. Some fantastic high school football is happening all over town this weekend. This local match-up should be a heck of a game.
  • Aerial Yoga: Sept. 1, Light on Yoga, 11:30AM. Join Liesha in an Aerial Yoga class at Huntsville’s Light on Yoga.
  • Huntsville City FC Watch Party: Sept. 1, Brass Tap, 6PM. Cheer on the Huntsville City FC while they are on the road against the New England Revolution II.
  • Sugar Rush 5k: Sept. 2, Arab City Park, 7AM. This is a great course run around a beautiful section of Arab, starting at Arab City Park.
  • UNA vs. Chattanooga: Sept. 2, Braly Stadium, 6PM. Did we mention that college football begins this weekend? The UNA Lions take on the Mocs of Chattanooga Saturday night.
