Here are 5 new businesses + 1 closing you need to know about

More new businesses are opening every week here in the Huntsville area, and we are excited to tell you all about them. This week, we have a cool new cafe to tell you about, a couple of new stores at Parkway Place Mall and a new skate park.

1. Perseus Sound Bar

The new music and drink hub will serve Mediterranean inspired tapas, coffee and cocktails. The hi-fi lounge is brought to you by Nick Quinn, the owner of Huntsville favorites Phat Sammy’s, Goodland Pour House and Mad Malts Brewing. While its opening event was held at The Lumberyard, its permanent home will be in MidCity.

2. Tradehome Shoes

An employee-owned shoe retailer, Tradehome Shoes brings Nike, HOKA, Birkenstock, New Balance and other well-known shoe brands to Parkway Place Mall.

3. The Vessel

While The Vessel is not a “new business,” they are moving to a much larger spot at Lincoln Mill and transforming the Stovehouse location into “BISQUE by The Vessel,” a paint-your-own pottery studio.

4. Skating rink @ Stoner Park

We are extra excited to hear about a new skating rink opening at Huntsville’s Stoner Park. The 19,000-square-foot roller skating rink will feature new restrooms and picnic facilities.

5. Lovisa Jewelry

Operating in more than 30 countries, Lovisa is a trendy jewelry store opening a new location in Parkway Place Mall this summer.

Decatur store closing

Urban Atlas in Decatur announced the closure of its storefront after eight years at its 2nd Avenue location. The business will still operate via e-commerce and pop-ups, however.
