Not knocking cover bands or tribute bands—they will always provide some darn good entertainment and create a fun vibe for a night out—but if you are searching for live original music around town, Huntsville does have multiple venues that host singer-songwriters, indie bands and musicians playing original music.

We polled our audience recently to tell us who their favorite local bands were, and we received a slew of suggestions, which shows the enthusiasm for original music here in the Rocket City. So if you want to see these bands play, we found some cool spots in town that host original music.
