Forget catching that flight—we’ve found all the top spots for spending an Asian-inspired day right here in the Rocket City.

Morning walk at Big Spring Park + Japanese Friendship Bridge

Big Spring Park’s iconic red Japanese Bridge is called Friendship Bridge for a reason.

In the mid 1960s, Lieutenant Colonel Mikio Kimata attended the Redstone Arsenal’s Ordinance Guided Missile School Program. Afterwards, he donated the beautiful red bridge and 60 Japanese Cherry trees to thank Huntsville for its hospitality.

It’s the perfect place to take a morning stroll to kick off your Asian-inspired day.

Grab Boba at Kung Fu Tea

I’m a big fan of bubble tea, so I’ve gone to various boba shops around the state and country.

However, not many can rival the selection Kung Fu Tea boasts. They even offer Lactaid-based milk teas for the lactose-free crowd.

Grab groceries and snacks at Asian Market

After I grabbed my Boba, I visited Asian Market on University Dr. They had an amazing selection of produce, snacks, desserts, sauces, drinks and more.

Grab lunch at Big Bowl Thai Cuisine

After buying some snacks from Asian Market, I visited one of my favorite lunch spots—Big Bowl Thai Cuisine.

Usually, the Green Chicken Curry comes in a cute little bento box, but today I had to take it to-go. I definitely recommend dining in though—the ambiance and service are always top-notch.

Take an afternoon stroll at Huntsville Botanical Garden

If you need to walk off your delicious lunch from Big Bowl, there’s no better place to wrap up your Asian-inspired day than Huntsville Botanical Garden.

The Aquatic Garden is your best bet for catching a glimpse of Asian architectural structures and Cherry trees. I also enjoyed seeing the exhibits for Origami in the Garden along the way.
