It’s about to rain hard in Huntsville
Reading time: 2 minutes
Rain, rain, come this way! There’s finally a strong chance of rain in the forecast next week so it’s time to find the umbrellas and raincoats you haven’t seen since this summer.
If you’re traveling for Thanksgiving break, make sure to keep your eyes on the skies. The National Weather Service predicts “a potent storm system” will form west of the Tennessee Valley bringing increased chances of rain on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
- Monday’s chance of rain: 20% to 60%
- Tuesday’s chance of rain: 80% to 90%
The Rocket City needs rain. So does Alabama.
Over 90% of Alabama has experienced moderate to extreme drought conditions throughout the fall–including Madison County–and Governor Kay Ivey declared a statewide burn ban on Nov. 8. Currently, rainfall chances are predicted to increase next month through January according to the National Weather Service.
