NEW: Kolache Factory will open its first Alabama location in Huntsville
Reading time: 2 minutes
Kolache Factory, the Texas-based bakery cafe, officially announced their first Alabama location will open in Huntsville late this summer or early fall.
It’s the newest addition coming to The Foundry, a new development coming near Stovehouse.
More about Kolache Factory
Retired U.S. Army Major Aaron Hall will open the first Alabama Kolache Factory. He discovered his love for kolaches when he lived in Indianapolis.
But what exactly is a kolache? They’re fruit pastries that have ties to Eastern Europe.
When Czech immigrants arrived in Texas in the 1850s, the pastries got a Texas twist. Now many are filled with meats, cheeses and spices.
“I love kolaches so much, I finally just tell people, ‘You just gotta try it!’ I’ve always loved the product and bringing Kolache Factory to Huntsville seemed like the perfect opportunity to offer something unique and delicious to my community. We’re not just opening a store; we’re introducing a whole new food experience!”

When completed, it will have 342 multifamily apartments (including 14 rentable townhouses), a restaurant, retail spaces and more.
