Unique locations in Huntsville that remind us of Taylor Swift lyrics

Which is your favorite era? (Curtis Venetta / Hville Blast)

It’s challenging to think of a single day in the past several years where Taylor Swift wasn’t a major topic of conversation in the media. Following her recent re-release, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” we couldn’t help but wonder what a Swiftie-themed day in Huntsville might look like.

So, after 13 sleepless nights (okay, maybe we’re exaggerating), we’ve compiled a list of places in the Rocket City that remind us of Taylor Swift’s library of song lyrics. Let us walk you through an enchanted day of cafés, window shopping and wine, all found in the heart of Downtown Huntsville.

“I parked my car right between the Methodist and the school that used to be ours” — ’tis the damn season

This Methodist church might not be right next to a school, but the street parking at Greene Street is a great place to start your Taylor Swift-inspired day downtown. Positioned right next to the Twickenham district, you can choose to begin by walking through historic neighborhoods or by heading right into North Side Square.

“Let’s fast forward to 300 takeout coffees later” — Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault]

You’re more than likely to run into some fellow Swifties at Honest Coffee Roasters, whether you’re headed to the location in Downtown Huntsville or Madison. They’ve crafted limited-time lattes in the past to celebrate Swift’s albums — most recently, the Vanilla Latte (Taylor’s Version) and Cottage Core (Taylor’s Version).

“And we drive and drive until we found a town far enough away and we talk and window shop” — The Best Day (Taylor’s Version)

There are plenty of cozy streets to window shop on in Downtown Huntsville. Now is an especially perfect time of year to browse, as many businesses have Christmas decorations on display. The Rocket City has a tight-knit community of small businesses, all excited to show off their unique gifts for the season.

“Getting lunch down by the Lakes” — invisible string

Big Spring Park is undeniably one of Huntsville’s most beloved landmarks and a great spot to enjoy some lunch out. We think Taylor Swift would appreciate Big Spring’s rich history and beautiful scenery — perhaps it could be a location where some future records are written?

“Down the block, there’s an antique shop and something in my head said, ‘Stop,’ so I walked in” — Timeless (Taylor’s Version) [From The Vault]

There are so many antique shops across the Rocket City, many of which you can find on the Alabama Antique Trail. However, if you’re not looking to stray too far from downtown, we’ve got you covered. Check out Railroad Station Antiques and Rivenbark & Roper Antiques (just next door) for a unique selection of furniture, clothes and more.

“We meet up every Tuesday night for dinner and a glass of wine” — no body, no crime (feat. HAIM)

Wine, anyone? (Audrey Johnson / Hville Blast)

While we don’t condone any of the other activities described in this song, we’re happy to share some great spots to grab dinner and a glass of wine with your friends. Make sure to stop by these restaurants, whether it’s a Tuesday night or not (and read about the new Bloom Winery coming to Huntsville!):
