Reading time: 2 minutes
Did you know that it’s Youth Art Month all across the nation? We’re proud to celebrate it right here in our city at the Huntsville Museum of Art.
This year’s exhibit just opened, and it will showcase young, local talent until April. Here’s everything you need to know about this inspirational exhibit.
What the exhibit showcases
The new exhibit, entitled “YAM 2023: Exhibition for Youth Art Month,” showcases almost 200 pieces of artwork from students all across North Alabama.
Youth Art Month has been supporting youth art and art education since 1961, and the Huntsville Museum of Art has been celebrating it with the Youth Art Month Exhibition for 36 years now.
In addition to celebrating the creative talent of young artists in our region, the exhibit recognizes award-winning artwork with the Juried Art Teachers’ Biennial, Congressional Art Competition on display.
The artwork in the YAM Exhibit is impressive regardless of the age of the artists. However, knowing that each piece was created by a student in middle or high school is truly inspiring.
