Around 45 minutes from Huntsville, Scottsboro features a charming downtown and is most famous for the iconic store Unclaimed Baggage.

If you haven’t visited for a day trip yet, you’ll want to time your trip with the unveiling of Two Sisters Square—a new green space coming to downtown Scottsboro. Read on to learn more about this exciting project and how it’ll continue the growth of downtown.

A project rooted in community

The Two Sisters Square project has already been in the works for three years, and the crew officially broke ground on February 17. According to the Jackson County Sentinel, the project has not been without its hardships, facing funding obstacles and the death of Gentry-Michaels, a key part of the team behind the park.

Nonetheless, the team has continued to stay strong, work hard and move the project forward. Although an official opening date has not been announced, the Downtown Scottsboro Facebook page has continued to post progress photos along the way.

  • A stage perfect for live music

  • Lush green space
  • Newly planted trees
