New restaurant to replace Fusion Barbecue in Huntsville

A new restaurant will replace Fusion Barbecue in Huntsville, according to a sign posted on the restaurant’s door.

The flyer reads, “Salt Smokehouse, coming soon.” While we’re not yet sure what Salt Smokehouse is, we know it’s not related to the Salt Factory Pub at MidCity. Stick with Hville Blast for more updates on when this new restaurant will open.

What happened to Fusion Barbecue?

We noticed an eviction notice on Fusion’s door back in January, and restaurant staff told us they would be closing their doors.

Without announcement, Fusion closed sometime in the middle of February.

The restaurant opened at Lincoln Mill in May of 2022 and served a unique menu that included items like pulled pork sandwiches, fall-off-the-bone ribs and mac-n-cheese.

What restaurants are opening + closing in the Huntsville area?

In addition to Fusion, several Huntsville businesses have closed their doors this year including The Bakingtist, Pimentos at Stovehouse and, most recently, The Party Prep Co.

That said, there are still tons of new restaurants are opening in the Huntsville area soon:

• Capriotti’s – opens March 25
• Trio: Eat. Drink. Vibe. – opens April 1
• Big Bad Breakfast – opens April 2
• Cutes + Cakes – opens April 13
• Bonchon – opens April 2024
• Pizelles at Campus 805 – opens April 2024
• Jet’s Pizza – coming soon
• Lost Pizza – coming soon
