October health score honor roll – Gold Sprint, Taco Mama earn 95+

The Madison County Health Department in October conducted health inspections at more than 200 restaurants in the county, with most receiving a health score of 95 or above.

As a public service, Hville Blast will report monthly Madison County Health Department restaurant scores, featuring those eateries that scored a 95 or better on their inspection (we excluded private eateries like school or business cafeterias).

Here is who made the honor roll in October of 2022:

Taco Mama (Madison) – 98

Taco Mama has grown its footprint in the Huntsville area in recent years, and the Madison location, at Clift Farms has seen tremendous success.

The Madison County Health Department gave Taco Mama a 98 in its October inspection.

Gold Sprint Coffee – 96

Gold Sprint, located at 2515 9th Ave. SW near Lowe Mill, is a coffee shop staple in Huntsville, and in addition to their delicious coffee, they serve a great breakfast and lunch.

Luv’s Hawaiian BBQ – 96

Luv’s Hawaiian BBQ, which opened in April this year at 5000 Whitesburg Drive, serves up some fabulous eats such as BBQ chicken, Katsu beef, mahi mahi, short ribs and chicken dishes.
