Presidents Day in the Huntsville area—what’s open + closed

The third Monday of February is always set aside to honor those who have served as President of the United States, and as a national holiday, several of the services and businesses you would normally access will be closed.

Here’s what is open and closed in the Huntsville area on Presidents Day:

What’s open + closed on Presidents Day

While most businesses are open (in fact, several retail outlets may actually have Presidents Day sales), the majority of government offices and services will be closed Monday.

Here’s what to expect Monday in regard to closings in the Huntsville area:

  • Federal offices – Closed
  • State offices – Closed
  • Municipal, county offices- Closed
  • Schools – Closed
  • Garbage collection — No garbage collection, Monday’s garbage collection will take place Tuesday, 2/20
  • U.S. Post Offices – Closed, no mail service will run. Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered
  • FedEx and UPS – FedEx and UPS will be delivering. FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Economy will be on a modified service schedule. UPS will open on a normal schedule.
  • Banks – Most closed
  • Financial markets – New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed Monday
