Do you want to move your feet before you eat this Thanksgiving? There’s no better way to do that than a Turkey Trot, and we’ve found 5 in North Alabama that support great local causes.

1. Crisis Services of North Alabama

Crisis Services of North Alabama supports domestic violence survivors in and around the Huntsville area. Their Turkey Trot runs through the campus at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

When: Thursday, Nov. 24; 5k at 8AM, Tiny Turkey Trot at 9AM

2. Theatre Turkey Trot

Around the Curtain Children’s Theatre is hosting the Theatre Turkey Trot in South Huntsville this year. The race starts at Around the Curtain and runs through Aldridge Creek Greenway.

When: Thursday, Nov. 24; Registration at 7AM, 5k at 8AM

3. Turkey Trot of Morgan County (Decatur)

Support the United Way of Morgan County with a quick drive over the river to the Turkey Trot of Morgan County. The course goes through Downtown Decatur and the race features a 5k, 1-mile fun run, and a Crossfit 5k.

When: Thursday, Nov. 24; 5k at 8AM, 1-mile at 9AM

4. Trax4Max (Florence)

Trax4Max is the one time a year I willingly lace up my running shoes. The course goes through Downtown Florence, including the beautiful campus at the University of North Alabama, and all proceeds benefit the YMCA of the Shoals. Come dressed in a Thanksgiving costume—you might just win a prize.
