The Huntsville area is hosting some pretty awesome live theater productions over the next few months. You will see on the local theater calendar that some classic productions are coming our way over the next couple of months, coupled with some unique takes on previous performances.

1. ‘The Last Straw’ @ Shenanigans Comedy Theatre

  • What: Bramble Stories will feature heartfelt, humorous, harrowing, and courageous tales. The evening’s emcee will be award-winning storyteller, writer and Bramble Stories Co-Founder Melissa Ford Thornton.

2. ‘Peter Pan’ @ VBC Playhouse

  • What: This high-flying musical has been thrilling audiences of all ages for close to 70 years and is now being brought back to life in a new adaptation by celebrated playwright Larissa FastHorse, directed by Emmy Award winner Lonny Price and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

3. ‘Les Misérables‘ @ Mark C. Smith Concert Hall

4. ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ @ VBC Playhouse

  • What:  Walk through the vortex of this fantastical adventure traveling through time and space as Fantasy Playhouse presents the popular kids sci-fi novel by Madeleine L’Engle live on stage.

5. ‘Something Rotten! The Musical’ @ VBC Playhouse

You can’t mention live theater in Huntsville without showcasing the awesome Theatre Huntsville productions. (Theatre Huntsville)
  • What: Two brothers set out to write the world’s first musical and defeat the Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard” in this mash-up of 16th-century Shakespeare and 21st-century Broadway!
