Town Madison is a collection of five districts between Wall Triana Highway and Zierdt Road where Madison locals will have new opportunities to eat, play and live. Most recognizable as the neighborhood surrounding Toyota Field, home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas, the area has been growing quickly over the last several years.
Here’s a guide to 7 restaurants that have opened recently or will open soon in Town Madison.
1. J. Alexander’s Restaurant
The Town Madison J. Alexander’s will be the restaurant’s first Alabama location. Opening is anticipated in late February, and they are currently hiring for several positions.
2. Moe’s Original BBQ
Founded by three Alabama natives and University of Alabama alums, Moe’s Original BBQ exemplifies everything right with Alabama barbecue. Open now, the Town Madison location is one of 60 nationwide and the third in the Huntsville area.
Town Madison is getting a rooftop bar and grill! Prohibition will be 1920s-themed and is managed by the same group as several other local favorites like Taco Mama, Urban Cookhouse and Melt.
4. Sa Za Serious Italian Food
Right now, Alabamians can only find Sa Za in Montgomery. That’s about to change soon, as a second location is expected to open in Town Madison this year.
5. Slim Chickens
Slim Chickens just opened their fifth Alabama storefront and second in Madison on Outfield Drive. Fried chicken is their specialty, from wings and sandwiches to chicken and waffles. Also, be sure to try one of the 15 available dipping sauces while you’re there—I think I hear the garlic parmesan dip calling my name…
6. Super Chix
If you’re a chicken sandwich connoisseur, Super Chix may be more your style. Super Chix claims to have “the last true chicken sandwich,” offering a wide selection of chicken sandwiches and fresh custard in-store or by delivery.
If you just can’t wait until the Town Madison location opens, give their Memorial Parkway storefront a shot.
7. The Yard Milkshake Bar
The Yard’s larger-than-life milkshakes have become a legend in their own right. The Madison location opened last year and has a rotating menu of sweet treats. Overwhelmed by the number of options? Try the Madison-exclusive “Graham Slam,” a loaded milkshake with graham cracker ice cream, “Rocket City sprinkles,” and a baseball cookie dough pop.
