Trash Pandas seek national anthem singers for the new season
Reading time: 2 minutes
It’s not a ball game without a singing of the “Star Spangled Banner” before the first pitch, and you can help carry on that tradition for the Rocket City Trash Pandas by auditioning to sing the national anthem this coming season.
That’s right, the Trash Pandas are holding auditions for local singers to perform the national anthem before their games. If you think you have what it takes, here’s what to know:
National anthem auditions
The Trash Pandas will host auditions at the Parkway Place Mall Saturday, Feb. 17 from 10AM to 1PM.
This audition — open to solo singers, ensemble groups and choirs — is for the opportunity to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” prior to one of the Trash Pandas 69 home games at Toyota Field during the 2024 season.
The event is free and open to the public to attend, and is hosted by Trash Pandas on-field emcee “Tricky” Ricky Fernandez. A panel of judges for the auditions will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Where can you sign up?
Interested applicants should complete the audition form.
Each registered contestant will be contacted to schedule the time of their performance. Unregistered individuals or groups are welcome to attend, and will be wait-listed, but cannot be guaranteed an audition due to time constraints.
