Vocalists wanted for new Athens Thursday Night Talent series

Athens has a new event coming up at the end of the month and they need some help. Main Street Athens is looking for talented vocalists for an upcoming new event called Thursday Night Talent.  

If you’re a talented vocalist, this is your chance to captivate the audience and showcase your skills in the heart of Athens and win $1,000. Here’s how to get in on Thursday Night Talent:

Whether you’re into rock, pop, jazz, country, classical, or any genre that gets toes tapping and heads nodding, Athens Main Street want to hear from you.

To submit yourself for the contest, complete this survey this week. Selected performers will be contacted directly via email or phone by September 21.

On September 28, selected performers will perform the karaoke version of their song by working with the event MC, Manny Acosta.  On October 26, the finalists will be prepared to sing two songs. Judges will have criteria to follow for judging.

If you aren’t going to be one of the contestants, why not head over to downtown Athens and watch the performers?

Here’s what to know about the first round of Thursday Night Talent:

• Date: Thursday, September 28
• Time: 6PM
• Location: Eastside of the Limestone County Courthouse

There will be food trucks and shops and local restaurants will stay open later than usual. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to watch the vocalists.
