After 4th of July festivities have concluded, we have an entire weekend left for fun and entertainment. And here in the Rocket City this weekend, we have plenty to do over the next few days.

Here’s what’s happening this weekend in and around Huntsville:

1. USA Table Tennis Championships

The USA Table Tennis Nationals will take over the Von Braun Center South Hall with more than 80 courts as all of the national champions will be crowned throughout the week.

2. Trash Pandas vs. Barons

Come out to Toyota Field Thursday through Saturday for the Trash Pandas’ series against the Birmingham Barons. Each game will include a fireworks display afterwards.

3. City Lights + Stars

Bring your chair, blanket and picnic to enjoy the evening of live music in Huntsville’s most scenic setting. Food trucks will be onsite and beer and wine are available for purchase.

4. Jackalope 4 Mile + 8 Mile Trail Run

 This is the fourth in a series of trail runs through North Alabama’s nature preserves. All runners who sign up for the Jackalope 4 Mile & 8 Mile will receive a t-shirt and awesome finisher award.

5. 2nd Annual Christmas in July

This is a community event that will prayerfully assist in meeting the needs of families within our community with multiple giveaways.

6. Cars + Coffee

Gearheads, don’t miss this monthly meet-up for folks just like you. Head to the MidCity District for car talk, displays and a cup of java Saturday morning.

7. July Makers Market

Whether you’re searching for unique gifts or treating yourself, this market promises something special for everyone. Discover a diverse array of local artisans showcasing their handmade goods.

8. Don ‘DC’ Curry at Stand Up Live

Don’t miss the hilarious stand-up comedy of veteran comedian DC Curry. Curry is probably most widely recognized for his comedic acting role as the Uncle Elroy on the urban classics, “Next Friday” and “Friday After Next.”

9. Cocktails + Cosmos

Learn to find stars, constellations, planets, and other far out objects (such as nebulae and even galaxies) with imagery from telescopes like Hubble and Webb. And, enjoy some cocktails in the process.

10. Silver Silos at Stovehouse

Catch this free show at Stovehouse Saturday night! One of the most popular and talented local bands, Silver Silos have a dynamic set list you are sure to enjoy.

11. Laser Taylor Swift

if you can’t see Taylor herself live in concert, seeing her music set to laser lights is the next best thing. Sing along to all your favorites and let the show transport you through different stories as only laser light can.

12. This Day in Dead

This is a new series here in Huntsville, called This Day in Dead, which features a screening of a Grateful Dead show from that date in a given year. In honor of the 4th of July, this weekend’s screening is a great 4th of July show from 1989 in Orchard Park.

13. The Market at MidCity

Check out fresh produce, arts and crafts, jewelry, good eats and more at the Market at MidCity Sunday afternoon.

14. Celtic Slow Music Session

Celtic Slow Music Sessions are a gathering of musical artists playing a variety of tunes. The music chosen can be a mix of relaxing and uplifting tunes.

15. Live + Local featuring New Atomic

Head on over to Back Forty Beer Company Sunday to catch a live performance by New Atomic, and while you’re there, enjoy some fabulous craft beer and delicious food.
