2.4% unemployment rate for Madison County among lowest in Alabama

Madison County reported one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state for March, as numbers were released by the Alabama Department of Labor this week.
The county shows a 2.4% unemployment rate, lower than the state’s 2.7% rate for March.

Unemployment rate in Madison County lower than 2025

Not only was Madison County’s unemployment rate in March lower than the rate from a year ago, all of Madison County’s neighboring counties showed lower unemployment rates compared to last year.
Additionally, Huntsville and its surrounding cities posted lower unemployment numbers than 2025.
