January may have been cold, but that just means we’re on the hunt for especially warm and yummy meals!

Here are some of our team’s favorites from this month.

Mason Dixon Bakery & Bistro

Mason Dixon has long been a staple for gut-friendly food in Huntsville. As Alabama’s first entirely gluten-free bakery and restaurant, they have garnered a cult following since their opening in 2013.

Here’s what our team loves about Mason Dixon:

“This refreshing chicken bowl is one of my go-tos for a quick healthy lunch near downtown. Best paired with a Better kombucha, dessert from the bakery and a stamp on your Craft Coffee Trail book!”

Kimmie’s Kitchen & Social House

Kimmies
Kimmie’s has a wide range of items on their menu, but their grouper sandwich and steak fries is a smash hit. (Lisa Battles / Hville Blast)

Kimmie’s in downtown Decatur may be new, but their menu is bringing the heat.

With a huge variety ranging from burgers to BBQ, even the pickiest of eaters can find something at Kimmie’s.

“The massive battered and fried grouper sandwich and crispy fries are full of luscious flavor at this new spot in downtown Decatur. We also loved the chicken empanada starters. I couldn’t resist adding a frozen marg for a festive start to the new year.”

Tupelo Honey

Tupelo Honey hasn’t been in Huntsville for very long, but it’s already gathered a following for its down-home, southern menu.

“This was my first time to eat at Tupelo Honey in MidCity. If this sandwich is any indication of the awesomeness of rest of the menu, I will be back frequently.”

Cash & Jack’s

Cash & Jack’s is a favorite among Athens residents for their burgers, salads and steaks.

Our intern Peyton got the Avo Press with Sweet Potato Fries, and it did not disappoint.

“Cash & Jack’s has classic food with unique twists; for example, loaded Tex-Mex salad with BBQ ranch sauce. They have plenty of great healthy options with fresh ingredients!”

Miso Happy

A restaurant with a wide selection of cuisines is always a hit. And with its selection of Chinese, Japanese, and even Korean dishes Miso Happy has something for everyone.

“Miso Happy has quickly become the go-to spot for my friends and I. Make sure to place an order for crab rangoons, and grab a boba tea for dessert!”

If you’ve been imagining yourself on a beach, look no further than Sea Salt on Clinton Avenue.

“Sea Salt is one of my favorite Huntsville restaurants, and their oysters are so fresh. They literally shuck them right before they put them on your plate.”
