Get excited about these triathlons

Triathlons involve running, swimming, and cycling back-to-back for a uniquely challenging, physical event. If you’re a fan of one or all three of those, look into signing up for either—or both for those beasts out there.

Huntsville Sprint Triathlon

When: The 44th annual Huntsville Sprint Triathlon will be on August 3, 2024.

Registration closes at midnight July 25th. You can find the itinerary and race details here, and sign-up to guarantee your spot as well as a t-shirt.

This event will be 400 meters of swimming, 7 miles of biking, and 3 miles of running. If you’d rather come support than compete, they’re always looking for volunteers.

Soggy Seals Outdoor Triathlon

2022 Soggy Seal 17035
Soggy Seals triathlon (YMCA Huntsville)

When: September 14th, 2024 beginning at 7AM.

Put on by the Southeast family YMCA, this year marks the 13th annual Soggy Seals triathlon. You can register here, while fees for adults are only $30. Afterward you can enjoy a shower and post-event snacks.

This event will consist of running 3 miles, cycling 8 miles, and swimming 300 yards. It makes a fun, more casual triathlon than most for people of all ages to participate in.

Working toward goals is important to mental and physical health. Triathlons are a great way to set a goal for yourself, and train to meet that goal in multiple different ways. But whether you’re ahead of the line or watching people pass, participating is the best part.
