Discover these 12 new businesses in the Huntsville area

The last couple of weeks have been busy in regard to new businesses in the Huntsville area. The area saw the opening or the announcement of an opening for 12 new businesses in just the last several days.

Here are some of the new businesses in the Huntsville area that we have welcomed in the last week:

1. LawLer’s BBQ – Harvest

Most folks who have been in Huntsville for any length of time likely knows about LawLer’s Barbecue. A staple in the Rocket City restaurant community for decades, LawLer’s just announced they are about to open a new location in Harvest.

2. City Bowls

The family-owned City Bowls has finally opened its Huntsville location off of Memorial Parkway. The Birmingham-based eatery has an extensive menu that ventures beyond your traditional açaí bases.

3. Big Bad Breakfast

Big Bad Breakfast will open a Huntsville-area location at the old Smokey’s BBQ. Known for its made-from-scratch cuisine, BBB offers true Southern style breakfast items like chicken and waffles, a variety of biscuits and biscuit sandwiches and hearty egg plates.

4. ShakeiT Boba

ShakeiT Boba has been popular boba truck in Huntsville for some time, and their first storefront just opened in Madison last week. If you love boba, then you will adore Shakeit Boba.

5. Jefferson’s

Famous for their wings and burgers, Jefferson’s has more than 30 locations in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. Founded in Jacksonville, Ala., the first Huntsville-area location is opening soon.

6. Niyah’s Southern Deli & Catering

Niyah’s Southern Deli & Catering opened officially last week, but it has been a popular food truck around town for some time. Some fo the best soul food you’ll find in the Huntsville area is served here at their new location.

7. The Ninety Nine Boutique

Local clothing shop The 99 Boutique is opened its new location in Parkway Place Mall this past week. You can find fantastic and affordable fashions at The 99, and now with this new location, it’s even easier than ever to find these incredible clothing items.

8. Nothing Bundt Cakes (Madison)

Huntsville folks already know about the delicious cakes found at Nothing Bundt Cakes — the bakery has a location in Jones Valley already — but now Madison is about to get in on the culinary party, so to speak. A new Nothing Bundt Cakes location just opened at Clift Farm.

9. Hand + Stone Spa

We mentioned the announcement of the new Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa in an earlier report, but now we can announce it is officially open in Clft Farm.

10. Downtown Rebel

This past week, Downtown Rebel—an adorable boho boutique—just opened its doors in Decatur. If you live in Madison and love all things vintage and retro, you’ve likely visited Madison Mercantile. Inside this unique store, you can find Downtown Rebel’s sister store—the Vintage Rebel.

11. Starbucks – Clift Farm

When you’re talking about new businesses in the Huntsville area, Starbucks would hardly be considered “new,” but a new location did just open in Clift Farm with the two previously mentioned businesses in the shopping center.

12. Jazzed Up Beauty

Jazzed Up Beauty Bar is another one of the new businesses in the Huntsville area that just opened. Operated by owner and lash artist McKenna Alize, Jazzed Up Beauty Bar offers lash extension, any hair needs — including natural, weaves, braids, and locs — and offers makeup and nail services.

Closings in the Huntsville area

Two businesses, Suzy’s Pops in Lowe Mill and Bruster’s in Jones Valley have closed for good. Suzy’s Pops made the announcement last week and Bruster’s posted a sign on their storefront saying that location would close permanently Oct. 1.
