Foraging Hike at Harvest Square
(Easy/ 2 hours) What can we find to forage in the hot weather of August? (Persimmons, wild grapes, maypop, and more!) Join forager Casey Lanier at Harvest Square Nature Preserve to search out plants and fungi that can be harvested and prepared at home. The route for this hike will be determined by Casey.
A FEW NOTES: This hike is educational, so if you’re looking for a walk with no long stops to talk, it’s probably not what you’re looking for. The hike is scheduled to last 2 hours, but it may run long. This hike around the preserve is not intended for collection or consumption of species, but more for identification and educational knowledge.
Location: Harvest Square Nature Preserve, 111 Allyson Sadie Blvd, Harvest, AL 35749
