Get to know these 9 new businesses here in the Rocket City

With spring in full swing, more new businesses are opening up here in the Rocket City. From new places to eat to a brand new hair salon, we have some really cool businesses opening here.

1. Mo’Bay Beignet + Baytown Burger

Mo’Bay Beignet Co. and their companion burger restaurant, Baytown Burger Co. had plans to open in Huntsville last spring. However, this spring will be the official opening for the popular Mobile business.

2. Oak + Mane Hair Co.

Local business owner Nikkie Elliot opened Oak & Mane Hair Co. in Huntsville in February. Elliot said her vision for the salon was to “give stylists the freedom of a flexible schedule, affordable rental rates or higher than standard commission rates.” This is a full service salon with top-notch stylists.

3. Flying Biscuit

This new location for the breakfast specialists is located at The Foundry off Governor’s Drive — the third Flying Biscuit Cafe in Alabama — and opened last weekend.

4. Redstone Furniture 

Redstone Furniture opened at the end of February, and features furniture for every room of your home with more than 40 companies represented.

5. Sophie’s by Camille

Sophie’s by Camille, an American bistro located at Stella’s in 5 Points, will offer a diverse menu with grab-and-go and dine-in options for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

6. Heartbaker Bakery

This Italian/Hispanic bakery is opening soon in Madison, with a soft opening this week. If the menu items are any indication, these sweet treats will be absolutely delicious.

7. Lola’s Cocina

Lola’s Cocina, a sister restaurant to Phil Sandoval’s, is about to open one of its two Huntsville-area locations. In addition to the Town Madison location (opening this summer), Lola’s will open in Jones Valley in May.

8. Jefferson’s

The popular burger, wings and oyster joint will have a new Huntsville location in the coming weeks. Jefferson’s is already a hot spot in Hampton Cove, so this new location on Winchester should be just as popular.

9. Better Homes + Gardens Real Estate

Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate opened its Huntsville branch last week. Serving the North Alabama and Southern Tennessee areas, BHGRE Southern Branch aims to use its vast network of global leaders in the real estate and marketing industry to make home-buying the best experience possible.
