Reading time: 3 minutes
If you’re looking for some local food options to replace your fast food runs, you’re in the right place. Huntsville has a wide network of small businesses and locally-operated restaurants that are sure to elevate your weekly cuisine choices.
Check out our local recommendations:
If you like Chili’s Grill + Bar, try Del Chuco
While Del Chuco isn’t opening until February, we have high hopes for the Rocket City’s up-and-coming Tex-Mex restaurant. This new spot, which will be located on the Northside Square downtown, is created by the same people who created The Standard Social Market.
Keep an eye on our social media pages, as we will surely try out Del Chuco when they open next month.
If you like Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, try Fresko Grille Modern Mediterranean
Stovehouse has plenty of amazing restaurants where you can sit outside and enjoy the weather while eating a great meal. Build your own wrap (as shown above) or bowl by choosing from freshly-made bases, proteins, salads, spreads and more. Swing by when Stovehouse has live music playing to truly experience your Mediterranean food in a different way.
If you like Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers + Buffalo Wings, try Tenders
Tenders has been a staple chicken restaurant in Huntsville for 25 years and is locally owned. You can get the “Big Daddy” plate of six tenders, a tenders and wings combo or a Tenders sandwich. There are four locations you can check out across Madison and Huntsville, including Holmes Avenue, Madison Street, Wynn Drive and Intercom Drive.
If you like Panda Express, try Wok’s Up Chinese Food
Another great spot at Stovehouse is Wok’s Up, which serves up delicious Chinese food every day. Pick one- to three-entrée sized plates with rice, veggies and protein right off the stove, and choose from tasty appetizers like springs rolls or crab rangoon.
If you like Starbucks, try Honest Coffee Roasters
Last, but especially not least, we have to recommend checking out Honest Coffee Roasters if you’re a big Starbucks fan. They have a rotating range of seasonal drinks, amazing açaí bowls and a great menu of healthy foods.
Where else in Huntsville would you recommend as a good replacement for fast food?
