4 beautiful spots in Huntsville + Madison for your next fall photoshoot
Reading time: 3 minutes
Need a gorgeous backdrop for senior photos, engagement pictures or candid shots with your friends? There’s no better time to do it than in the fall, when the leaves are just beginning to change and the weather is no longer unbearably hot. Additionally, there’s no better place to do it than in the Huntsville/Madison area, where you can find the lively Big Spring Park and historic buildings.
Throw on your favorite fall attire and check out some of our favorite fall photoshoot spots:
1. The stairs in East Big Spring Park
This is my personal favorite fall photoshoot location. It’s beautiful at any time of year, but it is truly remarkable during autumn. There are several flights of stairs here, including a spiral staircase and a fountain, so you can try as many angles as you’d like.
2. The Roundhouse in Downtown Madison
Both The Roundhouse and the Madison Gazebo in Downtown Madison are great spots for your next photoshoot. There’s ample room on the staircase for a shoot with the whole family or all your best friends.
Depending on where you park, accessing this location may require you to cross train tracks — please be cautious!
- Where: 101 Main St, Madison, AL 35758 (This will take you to Main Street Cafe — The Roundhouse is behind the restaurant + across the train tracks.)
3. Maple Hill Cemetery
One of the most famous spots in the Rocket City is the Maple Hill Cemetery. Why is it famous? It’s home to several spooky ghost stories and the infamous “Dead Children’s Playground.” If you’re feeling scared, we recommend dressing up as ghosts (or your Halloween costume) to lighten the mood.
4. Between homes in Downtown Madison
Explore the neighborhoods nearby Downtown Madison for even more natural backdrops like the one pictured above. Overgrown fences and fall colors make for a lovely farmhouse aesthetic.
