Kathryn Muenstermann was born and raised in the Athens area, and she is passionate about the local food, shopping and business scene. She’s even made her husband Kyle—a former Madison native—a huge fan of Athens.

Kyle proposed to Kathryn in downtown Athens, and the couple loves grabbing a drink at Athens Alehouse + Cellar, shopping at Pimento’s and eating brunch at Old Black Bear on Sundays.

“Growing up, Athens felt like a small town most people would just drive through. We didn’t have a lot of shopping and dining options, but the people and the charm made up for everything. Now, Athens feels like it’s growing up with us! The downtown area is booming, we’re getting so many new places to eat and shop. It’s really becoming the place to be.”

More growth ahead for Limestone County

Limestone County has seen significant growth in the last decade. That’s why it’s time to go ahead and put an offer in on a home now.

“Athens is growing because people are looking for options outside of the Huntsville scene to live, eat and shop. While Huntsville has almost everything you could need, some people also enjoy a more quaint place to call home and I think that’s what Athens has to offer. A small town charm with a growing list of things to do.”
