Reading time: 2 minutes
The National Weather Service in Huntsville predicts that afternoon heat indices will reach between 102-110 degrees throughout the week, and we know Huntsvillians are searching for ways to stay cool.
Here are the best ways we’ve beat the heat this summer:
Go to the movies
If you need to get out of the house, head to the movies for a break from the sun and sweat. The Barbenheimer hype has finally died down which gives you the perfect opportunity to hit the theaters.

Try a new restaurant with indoor seating
As nice as patio seating can be, we recommend finding some indoor dining options this time of year. Huntsville has plenty of new restaurants to try like:
Cool off with a drink
With temperatures this high, staying hydrated is a must. Ditch the hot coffee for something over ice, or try any of these refreshing drinks for non-coffee drinkers.
Jump in the nearest body of water immediately
There’s nothing quite like swimming that makes summer feel like summer.
If your neighborhood pool has closed–or you didn’t have one in the first place–you’re in luck. There’s an app like Airbnb, called Swimply, that you can use to rent pools in the Huntsville area.
