21 Huntsville Mother’s Day gift ideas your mom will treasure

Mother's Day
Me and my mom. 💗 (Ashley Eaton)

In case you didn’t know, we’re just over a week from Mother’s Day. On Sunday, May 7, we’ll celebrate the ones who hold us all together.

We sure hope you’ve already found a gift for your mom, but in the case you haven’t (we get it! life is busy), we’ve got ideas. Here’s how to celebrate your mom and support some great local businesses and nonprofits along the way:

For the foodie mom

Maybe your mom enjoys the finer things in life—like delicious eats. I can certainly relate. Thankfully, Huntsville’s food scene is poised to please. Consider one of these options:

Sometimes the best gift is a little bit of pampering. Whether that means new beauty products or a little time away, we’ve got the recs:

  • Restock her beauty supply with 1818 Farms products. Buy directly from the site or find them at local retailers like Alabama Goods.
  • Grab a gift card or something pretty from Lemon & Lavender. Sustainable + luxurious = the perfect Mother’s Day gift.
  • Let her relax with a facial from Guava & Glow. Go ahead and grab a couple products from the studio so she can indulge in some self care at home, too.
  • Go all out with a full spa day. Try Terrame in Madison for a completely relaxing experience.
  • Book a staycation. Start with a night or two at one of Huntsville’s most unique stays, like one of these AirBnbs, or 106 Jefferson, the new downtown boutique hotel.

For the artsy mom

Whether your mom prefers the fine arts or arts and crafts, we’ve got options. Consider:

  • Purchase Huntsville Museum of Art membership for her so she never misses an exhibit.
  • Go to a pottery class together. Design by Hart in Lowe Mill might be the perfect fit.
  • For something a little more relaxed, try a paint + sip class. Pinot’s Palette is probably exactly what you’re looking for.
  • Get tickets to the Huntsville Ballet, or a membership to the Huntsville Ballet Guild. Their 2022 season starts back this fall.
  • Grab a ticket subscription to the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra‘s 2022-2023 season. Subscriptions start as low as $57.
  • Buy tickets to one of Huntsville’s many spring and summer concerts. We’ve got a guide for what to expect through May, and more artists are being announced every day.

For the active or outdoorsy mom

Does your mom love sports, the outdoors, or all things active? Here’s what you should do:

  • Gift her a Huntsville Botanical Garden membership. It’s the bouquet that keeps giving all year long.
  • Buy Trash Pandas tickets for an outing you can enjoy together. You can get single-game tickets for as low as $8 apiece—which should leave enough cash to grab her a t-shirt or hat to wear to the game. 😉
  • Buy her flowers, of course! We love Noella’s Flower Truck—did you know they just opened a storefront at Stovehouse?
  • Why not consider a workout class you can do together? Check out a cycle/barre/strength class at Three15, or try dog yoga at Light On Yoga Fitness.

For the mom who’s always learning

Moms teach us so much—why not let them take a break and be the student? Here are a couple things your mom might love:

  • Get her a ticket (or a membership) to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. She can see all the regular attractions plus rotating exhibits, experiences in the Intuitive Planetarium and fun events like Cocktails & Cosmos.
  • Take a guided history walking tour of Huntsville or Madison. This event is free and would make the perfect companion to any of the other items on this list.

We hope we’ve inspired you to treat your mom like the queen she is this Mother’s Day! Don’t forget to share your celebrations with us by tagging @hvilleblast and using #hvilleblast.
